These boards are all made from a single piece of ambrosia maple which which as streaking caused by a beetles when the tree was alive. Mineral streaking can be seen around the hole where the beetle bored in to the wood.  Usually I don’t fill the holes.  The amount of streaking can very across pieces from light to very heavy.

The wood for these boards come from trees around our neighborhood that were knocked down during a storm that we harvested and then milled and dried in to lumber.
