This is my homemade finish that I apply to all the cutting boards and carving boards that I make.  It’s made from organic bees wax and food grade mineral oil.  Eventually the finish will wash off, so just apply some of the board butter, let it soak in and then wipe off the excess.   Mom used this every couple of weeks on the boards and loved that it kept her boards nice and soft.

Board Butter can also be used on your wooden salad bowls and utensils.

NOTE: My cheese boards, charcuterie boards and serving trays all use a different finish and don’t require board butter.
