Ambrosia Maple is a soft maple that has been infested while it was living with the ambrosia beetle (no, it’s no longer infested). The beetle makes a small hole (seen in the picture) and a mineral streak forms. The streaking varies greatly – sometimes very heavy and sometime more subtle. Usually I don’t fill the holes. This model has two handles and is finished with a long lasting food-safe penetrating oil.
This wood was harvested in North Andover after a storm.
